I had concerns for their welfare after the babys disappeared into the surf. The young turtles spend the first ten years of their lives swimming in seaweed, eating, growing and trying to not be eaten. One of these seaweeds is called sargassum. Out of the millions of eggs the female lays, only one or two of them will reach maturity.
