Having walked hundreds of miles on the beaches of barrier islands I know as I round to the north end there will be fallen trees.   The trunks and branches bleached and smooth  from the sun and salt.  They are called bone-yards.  To some extent this erosion is natural as the sand is moved by the tides,  but with oceans rising I have seen in my lifetime entire Neighborhoods washed into the sea.
