STUDIO ARTIST

 

Conduct studio art approximately 4-6 hours per day, researching subjects, sketching, drawing, and painting. Develop artistic creations by gaining deep understanding of environment and subject matter. Leverage personal sense of creativity to depict subjects accurately and creatively, generating pieces that stimulate viewing audience.

 

      Carefully selected media and techniques to maintain visual interest and communicate concepts.

      Leveraged unique perspective spanning natural environments while utilizing handmade mulberry paper to produce desired artistic result.

 

BAY DISTRICT SCHOOLS PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA 2000 to 2004

 

ART TEACHER

 

Hired to develop and establish initial art program in 2 elementary schools with 3,000 students and minimal budget; evaluated existing resources for effective curriculum and program and handled all aspects of supply ordering and art instruction for all students including gifted and special education participants.†††††††

 

      Fostered atmosphere of self-worth and creativity, overcoming challenges stemming from studentsí generational poverty and family environments.

      Leveraged Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE), ensuring all students are involved in rigorous study of visual art spanning four discipline perspectives of production, history, aesthetics, and criticism.

      Created replication of Egyptian tomb utilizing schoolís resources and student research to accurately depict tomb; provided opportunity for students to creatively learn history and gained support from administration.
